No.. I'm not exaggerating.
I actually had such an experience yesterday. I was trying to connect to ICICI netbanking site but that site didn't come up for a long time. I tried "Google"ing for any issue with it, but in vain. Then my friend told me that he read some tweet about major ICICI netbanking problem. So I searched on Twitter, and hoilaaa.. I got hundreds of tweets mentioning the issue with more still pouring in.. So tell me who won here? Definitely Twitter!
With this micro-blogging thing, more people tend to share info faster than having posted it somewhere else on the net and then waiting for Google Crawler to bless it. Of course the info is not exhaustive but big deal! We are getting what we want.

It is indeed. But only for the current information. Google is good for searching through internet in general without any time constraint on the content.
I think Google anticipates this and has already searches through Tweets.
